Life Beyond TMCHS

At Truman Middle College High School (TMCHS), success is defined not only by graduation, but by what comes next. We prepare students for meaningful futures in college, careers, and workforce pathways.

TMCHS consistently leads YCCS and CPS dropout recovery programs in post-secondary outcomes, including college enrollment, career training, and employment readiness.

HOW WE MEASURE SUCCESS

At TMCHS, student success is guided by the Chicago Public Schools School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP). This framework helps us track progress, measure growth, and ensure students are on a path toward graduation and future success.

We focus on key performance indicators that reflect both academic achievement and student growth.

Key Metrics

Academic Growth in STAR Math and Reading

We measure how much students improve over time, not just where they start.

Credit Attainment & Course Completion

Monitoring each student’s advancement to ensure timely completion of high school requirements.

Supporting Student Achievement

We build test preparation into everyday learning, so students feel confident and ready for what’s next. From STAR assessments to the SAT, ACT, and college placement exams, we help students develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

Through consistent practice and targeted instruction, students build the confidence and skills needed to perform well on these assessments and take the next steps toward college or career pathways.

Why Early College Matters

TRUMAN MIDDLE COLLEGE - Supporting Education

 Early College helps students:

  • Build leadership and academic skills
  • Gain exposure to real college expectations
  • Explore majors and career pathways
  • Strengthen their college applications
  • Transition smoothly into post‑secondary education

College Readiness & Dual Credit

As part of our commitment to preparing students for life after graduation, TMCHS partners with Harry S. Truman College to offer Dual Credit opportunities.
Students can earn both high school and college credit at the same time, gaining early experience with college‑level coursework and building momentum toward future academic success.
