Building Futures. Creating Opportunities.

At Truman Middle College High School (TMCHS), students have access to Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs and School-to-Work opportunities that prepare them for real-world success.

Through partnerships with Truman College, City Colleges of Chicago, and workforce programs, students gain hands-on experience, industry skills, and meaningful career pathways.

CTE Programs

TMCHS students have the opportunity to explore in-demand career pathways through Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs in partnership with Truman College and City Colleges of Chicago. These programs provide hands-on training in fields such as Cosmetology, Barbering, Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Early Childhood Education (ECE), Business & Entrepreneurship, and Architecture & Drafting.

Through real-world learning experiences, students develop valuable technical skills, gain exposure to professional environments, and may earn college credit, industry-recognized certifications, and career-ready skills that prepare them for employment or continued education after graduation.

School-to-Work Program

The TMCHS School-to-Work Program provides students with meaningful opportunities to gain real-world experience while still in school. Through internships, job placements, and career exploration opportunities, students develop essential workplace skills in professional settings. Participants may gain paid work experience (when available), build strong resumes and career portfolios, and explore their interests across various industries.

As they engage in these experiences, students strengthen critical skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, professionalism, and leadership, preparing them for success in both the workforce and their future careers.
