At Truman Middle College, students have the opportunity to take real college courses through our partnership with Harry S. Truman College and the City Colleges of Chicago. These programs help students build confidence, explore career pathways, and get a head start on their post‑secondary goals, all at no cost.
What Is Dual Credit?
Dual Credit allows TMCHS students to take one college course that counts for BOTH high school and college credit.
When a student passes a Dual Credit class:
- They earn high school credit toward graduation
- They earn college credit on an official CCC transcript
Dual Credit courses are taught by college‑approved instructors and follow real college‑level expectations.
What Is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment allows TMCHS students to take college classes directly at Truman College, either in person or online.
These courses:
- Count as college credit
- May also count toward high school requirements (depending on the course)
- Give students the full experience of being a college student
Dual Enrollment is ideal for students who want to explore advanced subjects or career programs.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility may vary by course, but most Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment students must:
- Be enrolled at TMCHS
- Demonstrate academic readiness

- Receive counselor or advisor approval
