Truman Middle College High School (TMCHS) is an alternative public high school located within Harry S Truman College in Chicago, Illinois. We serve students ages 17–21 who have previously left traditional high schools and are seeking a pathway to earn their diploma while beginning college-level coursework.
At TMCHS, students are supported in a flexible and structured learning environment that combines academic instruction, vocational opportunities, and postsecondary preparation. Our goal is to help students rebuild their academic progress, earn a high school diploma, and prepare for success in college, careers, and beyond.


TMCHS is built to meet students where they are and help them move forward with confidence. Every student’s path is unique, and our school is designed to support different learning needs and goals.

We focus on credit recovery and academic progress, high school diploma completion, college and career readiness, and personalized student support to help each student achieve their academic and future goals in a structured and supportive learning environment.
Students at TMCHS have the opportunity to take college-level courses at Harry S Truman College and earn college credit while completing their high school diploma. This experience helps students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and prepare for postsecondary success.
